Salt Lake City (AP) An explosion and fire destroyed a Salt Lake City home, but no one was inside at the time.

Authorities say the explosion in the Rose Park neighborhood occurred around 3 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters a block away were awakened by the blast. When they arrived, the home was in flames.

Fire Capt. Karleen Montanez says the north wall was gone and windows were blown out to the other side of the street.

Arson dogs were sniffing around for the cause of the explosion.
