Federal Investigators in Grand Junction

Investigators from the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are in Grand Junction trying to figure out why a plane lost its door after taking off from Grand Junction Regional Airport.

The plane had to make an emergency landing just around 4 O'clock Monday afternoon. The private jet is a Bombardier Challenger CL60.
Airport officials say that only the pilot and copilot were on the plane when the door flew off, no one was injured.

The FAA says it may be two days, two weeks, or even two months before we know what caused the door to fly off the plane. If you happen to stumble across an airplane door, the FAA says not to touch the door, but instead immediately call the police.
