Former First Lady Endorses Mccain

Bel Air, Calif (AP) John McCain says he's pleased and honored to be endorsed by Nancy Reagan.

The soon-to-be GOP presidential nominee stopped by the former first lady's California home Tuesday while on a west coast fundraising swing.

The GOP nominee-in-waiting, hopes Reagan's blessing will draw support from wavering republicans.

In a five-minute appearance with the former first lady in the driveway of her gated home, McCain said he was very pleased and honored. Reagan noted that she and her late husband “always waited until everything was decided” before making endorsements.

In a statement issued earlier in the day, she called McCain a good friend and that his experience has prepared him well to be the next president.
