Skier Dies After Hitting Tree at Keystone Ski Resort

Keystone, Colo. (AP) A skier from Kansas has died after hitting a tree at keystone ski resort.

Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says 43-year-old Michael Howe of Andover was trying to stop when he struck the tree with his head and chest around 11:15 a.m. yesterday.

He was on an intermediate trail at the time.

Richardson says he died of blunt force trauma to the chest.

Howe was in Colorado for the weekend skiing with a friend.
