Bangkok, Thailand (AP) Oil prices have spiked to a record of $117.40 a barrel after a Japanese oil tanker was attacked off the east coast of Yemen.
The tanker's operator says an unidentified ship attacked the tanker off the east coast of Yemen. There were no injuries.
But a report from Kyodo news agency says the vessel was leaking fuel after it was fired on by a rocket launcher from a small boat.
In Asian electronic trading on the New York mercantile exchange, light, sweet crude for may delivery was trading at $117.20 a barrel. That's up 51 cents from Friday's close.
