Over the weekend, the Grand Junction High School Knowledge Bowl Team took the state title beating out 56 other teams from across Colorado.

This is the twelfth time in thirteen years the Tigers have captured the state title. This year they went undefeated in competition.

"Front range teams win football games, they win the basketball tournaments and everything, "said senior team member Leah Fugere. "It's great to have a Western Slope team that can go and represent."

"It's a wonderfully victorious feeling when you realize you are a part of all that history," said senior team member Caleb Jordan.

The team says now it's looking ahead to the national competition which will be held in June. They say the highest a team has ever finished is fifth, and that they hope they will do better this year.
