Counties Testing New Voter Registration Database

Denver (AP) County clerks have begun testing a new statewide voter registration database.

A mock election using the database started Monday and will continue for two weeks. Secretary of state Mike Coffman calls it “spring training” for this year's primary and presidential election.

This is the first year the database will be used statewide. November's presidential election is expected to be the biggest in the state's history.

Computer experts have already been doing automated testing of the system to make sure it can handle thousands of users at a time.

The test will last two weeks and will focus mainly on whether county election workers have any trouble using the system.
