Dealer of Gun Used in VA. Tech Shootings Visits Campus

Blacksburg, Va. (AP) The online dealer who sold one of two guns used in the Virginia Tech shootings spoke at the school Thursday night to support a campaign in favor of concealed weapons on college campuses.

Extra police were on duty in case students protested Eric Thompson's visit, but there was no trouble. About 60 students listened as Thompson said people who want to arm themselves should be free to do so.

Tech spokesman Larry Hincker says he found it “terribly offensive” that Thompson would set foot on campus.

Last week, the school marked one year since the shootings in which 33 died, including shooter Seung-Hui Cho.

Cho bought a handgun through Thompson's internet gun store, which also sold handgun accessories to the man who killed five Northern Illinois University students in February before killing himself.
