Los Angeles (AP) Major League Umpire Kerwin Danley has been released from the hospital after taking a 96-mile-per-hour fastball to the right side of his jaw in a game Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Danley was carried off the field in the fourth inning after a pitch from Dodgers right-hander Brad Penny knocked the crew chief to the ground.
