A mother admits to stealing money from the PTO of a local elementary school.
32–year–old Heather Nelson plead guilty to theft of over $500 from the Rim Rock Elementary PTO, and with two other cases of theft and fraud.
The district attorney's office tells 11 News that Nelson got elected to the schools PTO under the pretense that she could help with the finances. They say she used a debit card to make personal purchases in November of 2007.
Nelson also had two felony convictions for larceny during the time she served on the PTO. Nelson was also sentenced today to two years in community corrections and eight years probation. She is also ordered to pay back the $915 she stole from the organization.
