The Grand Junction Public Works Department starts two new construction projects this week that will close portions of several roads.
Starting Wednesday, the intersection of 4th Street and Colorado Avenue will be closed as crews install new storm drains and repave the road with concrete. Officials say the project will take two weeks to finish. Drivers will still be able to access White Avenue, Rood Avenue, and Main Street from 4th Street. Those wishing to travel south of Colorado on 4th will be detoured to 1st Street.
Starting Tuesday, the intersection of 7th Street and Riverside Parkway will closed so crews can finish laying asphalt on the road. Officials say that project should be finished by Thursday.
drivers needing to move through the area will be detoured east on Noland, then south on 9th Street to Struthers Avenue.
