Three people are facing charges for something they say they didn't know was wrong. Officials say they were trying to take things from a condemned apartment complex.

Katy Christian, Audrey Molzahn and Kevin Smith were booked into the mesa county jail Saturday on felony charges of second degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

According to an arrest affidavit, a friend told the three that the apartments at 109 Anna Court had been condemned and that things had been left behind. So the three say they went there looking for a desk and other furniture.

Deputies found the three with a wrench, flashlight, bolt cutters, gloves and a screwdriver. Officials say they believe the three pried the door of at least one unit open. Deputies called the owner of that unit who decided to press charges.

Lee and Molzahn are each being held on $7,500 bonds. Smith, who was considered armed and dangerous at the time of his arrest, is being held on a $50,000.
