Lakewood, Colo. (AP) -- The threat of violence at Lakewood churches didn't deter hundreds of worshippers from attending Sunday services.

Lakewood police had officers at about a dozen churches after a pastor at Bear Valley Church reported an anonymous threat about someone who planned to go out “in a blaze of glory” by shooting people at the church and others in the city.

Lakewood Police Spokesman Steve Davis said the threat wasn't credible but that officers nevertheless took it seriously. In the end, the officers stationed at churches spotted no threats.

Bear Valley church member Steve Gregory says he and his fellow worshippers have God on their side and the threat didn't stop him from driving 85 miles to attend the Sunday service.
