Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado was honored with the city's Historic Preservation Award.
The group which helps people and their families near the end of their lives was honored for its upkeep of a historical home now used as the center for hope and healing.
The Miller Homestead was placed on the city's register of historic sites in 2003.
Hospice officials say they're glad they could create a new space for its organization while maintaining a historic place for the community.
The building holds many public events, the group's grief center and a coffee house.
