A 19–year–old is facing charges after he was caught with gumdrops but Mesa County deputies say they weren't ordinary candy. They were laced with LSD.

Deputies arrested Adam Thesing yesterday after they pulled him over for not using his blinker. According to an arrest affidavit Thesing showed deputies he had a pipe, a small amount of pot and two bags of gumdrops. Thesing called them "microdots" and said they had a total of 12 hits of LSD.

The sheriff's office says disguising drugs is a common practice.

Thesing is facing several charges including drug posession and distribution. He is out of jail on a $10 thousand bond..
