An abandoned Grand Junction building is finally getting torn down, after years of abuse and misuse.

Neighbors say for years, the building on the corner of Grand and 22nd has been an eye-sore, and a hangout for transients.

Those we spoke to say they're relieved to finally see the building go.

The site was recently purchased by School District 51 for 1.5 million dollars.

A district spokesperson says it has no plans yet for the site, but that it wants the hazardous building torn down, and the site cleaned up.
