Boulder, Colo. (AP) An 11-year-old boy is recovering from injuries suffered after authorities say he rode his bicycle through a stop sign and was run over by a Winnebago in Boulder.

Police say the boy, whose name hasn't been released, was struck about 2:30 p.m. Sunday after riding into the path of a Winnebago traveling about 40 mph.

The boy and his bike ended up wedged between the front of the vehicle and the roadway. Boulder police Sgt. Pat Wyton says the boy was dragged about 90 feet down the street before the Winnebago could stop.

Authorities say the boy was wearing a helmet, but it came off in the collision.

Officers used jacks to raise the vehicle, put it on blocks, then extricated the boy.

Police say it appears the child suffered only a bad case of road rash.
