Camarillo, Calif (AP) The pain of filling up the tank isn't going away.

The latest Lundberg survey finds the national average price for self-serve regular has climbed about 17 cents to $3.79 a gallon in the past two weeks.

Analyst Trilby Lundberg says that's 61 cents higher than it was about a year ago.

Lundberg says for the first time, the average price for regular has topped four dollars in two metropolitan areas. It's $4.07 a gallon in Chicago, and $4.01 on New York's long island.

The analyst says the national average for regular could reach $4.00 or more in a few weeks.
