Mesa County emergency officials are urging folks to be prepared for possible flooding along the Colorado River tonight and over the next couple of days.
Areas being monitored are Collbran, Plateau Creek along Highways 65 & 330, Plateau Creek at Colorado Confluence and I-70 near DeBeque and I-70 near mile marker 16.
One westbound lane of Interstate 70 is closed at mile marker 16 which is near Loma.
Officials say water levels in the Colorado River will near flood stage this evening and peaks are expected throughout tonight and into tomorrow, June 4.
It's predicted this peak will be higher than the peak Mesa County experienced May 23.
