Former Delta Police Chief Charged in Accidental Shooting

Former Delta police chief Richard Bacher is facing four misdemeanor charges related to the Feb 9th shooting of Kenny Franklin.

Prosecutors in Glenwood Springs are formally charging Bacher with third degree assault, negligence with a deadly weapon, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment. The accidental shooting happened while Bacher was working on a customers rifle at Jerry's Sporting Goods.

The owner of the sporting goods store is also facing a reckless endangerment charge.
