New York (AP) Barack Obama isn't discounting Hillary Clinton as a potential running mate.
Clinton's aides and supporters have suggested it would help heal some bruised feelings. And Obama says she'd be on anybody's short list, especially since they agree on most issues. He made those comments on CBS news.
The vetting of potential running mates will be done by a three-person team that includes Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former president John F. Kennedy. Former deputy Attorney General Eric Holder, who served under president Bill Clinton, and
Washington insider Jim Johnson are also on the team.
Meanwhile Hillary Clinton is said to be readying a Saturday announcement to end her campaign and back Obama. But she's hinting at retaining control of her delegates and staying visible to promote her signature issue of health care.
