AP_ No injuries are reported after a pit fire at the site of a gas drilling rig in Garfield County.

The fire erupted briefly Monday morning, but no evacuations were
ordered.

It's unclear which drilling company was involved. Grand Valley Fire Protection District Chief David Blair says the blaze burned itself out before fire crews arrived at the scene, about 10 miles north of Parachute along the east fork of Parachute Creek, at the head of county road 215.

Blair says it doesn't appear that any equipment was damaged. An investigation is under way.
