McDonald's is responding to a national scare. The restaurant chain has stopped serving sliced tomatoes while government officials look into the source of a salmonella outbreak in some raw varieties.
The outbreak has been linked to Colorado where one person is confirmed ill. In all, 23 people in 16 states have been affected.
McDonald's is not the only chain to pull the tasty fruits from its menu. Taco Bell, Chipotle's Mexican Grill, Wendy's, and Subway have as well. Many grocery stores have also pulled tomatoes off store shelves.
