Washington (AP) A Democratic senator says Barack Obama is considering former top military leaders as his running mate.
North Dakota senator Kent Conrad met with Obama's vice presidential vetting team today.
Afterward, he told the Associated Press that they discussed “many names” from three broad categories: current top elected officials, former elected officials and former top military leaders.
Conrad wouldn't reveal which names were discussed. He said it was clear the team is in the early phase of evaluating possibilities and has reached no conclusions about who will be Obama's running mate.
