VERNAL, Utah (AP) -- A pair of inmates who escaped from a Utah jail last week have been captured in Nebraska.

Uintah County Undersheriff John Laursen says 31-year-old Dallas Derrick and 21-year-old Jason Braham were captured Sunday morning after they were spotted walking away from a stalled vehicle in Lincoln, Neb.

They were being held in the Lancaster County jail where authorities say they may face charges in Nebraska before extradition back to Utah.

They're accused of stealing an SUV in Vernal after they fled on Wednesday through a vent in the jail laundry room where they worked.

Both were in jail on a variety of felony burglary and theft charges. Derrick also was serving time for drug charges, child abuse and failure to stop or respond at the command of police.
