LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) -- Longmont police have arrested two young men on suspicion of setting railroad ties on fire near the city's wastewater treatment plant.

Police say August Adams and Robert Fitzpatrick are facing arson charges after they were tracked down based on descriptions from witnesses Wednesday night.

The flames melted power lines, and the city-owned electric utility says about 300 customers lost power for an hour. Several traffic lights were knocked out. Firefighters say the debris may smolder for days.

No injuries have been reported and the wastewater treatment plant was not damaged.
