A couple accused of chaining their son up in their home and denying him bathroom privileges is looking to strike a deal with prosecutors.
Court documents say the parents handcuffed their 16-year-old son to a railing in their home and beat him with a belt.

In court yesterday the two waived their rights to a preliminary hearing and the district attorney's office tells 11 news they are in negotiations for a plea deal. Details on that deal are not being released.

Documents show the teen had bruises on his wrists and several cuts and weighed only 95 pounds when he was found.

Mesa County District Attorney Pete Hautzinger has said in the past that he has never seen a case like this.
