Denver (AP) Helicopters will continue to buzz between buildings across downtown Denver through Friday as special operation commandoes train in an urban environment.

The flights first took place Monday and include Black Hawk assault helicopters and MH-6 “Little Birds.”

MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.-based U.S. Special Operations Command Spokesman lt. Steve Ruh says the flights are a culmination of a two-week training exercise that is part of the “war on terror.” One official told KDVR-TV the flights are not security preparations for the Democratic National Convention in Augustt.

For those people kept awake by the flights that end at 11 p.m., Ruh says it's a small inconvenience to pay for freedom.
