The mother of a man wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a Grand Junction man two weeks ago asks her son to turn himself in Wednesday.
Mary Lincoln is the mother of Sam Lincoln who has managed to evade law enforcement for two weeks. Fellow suspect Sam Pruitt turned himself over to authorities Monday night.
Standing in her bakery in Palisade, Lincoln told the media that Sam is basically a good boy who has been destroyed by meth. She says she did not truly understand the depth to which he had fallen until two weeks ago when he was accused of shooting James Finnegan in the desert.
"Sam, I am talking to you, I love you, we all love you. Things aren't as bad as you think." She urged her son to turn himself in so that others will not be hurt. She also says she has received a lot support from the town and has been treated with respect by law enforcement.
