Fire investigators say they now know the origin of a 1.5 million dollar fire at a Catholic Church earlier this week. The fire destroyed the historic gymnasium of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church Monday morning that required more than 30 firefighters from Grand Junction and Clifton to control. Investigators say the exact cause of the fire may never be known, but they do know where it started. The last person to leave the building did so at about 6–30 the night before the fire was discovered. Firefighters believe the fire could have smoldered for hours before it was reported at 4–30 the next morning.
