Austistic Man Found Alive After a Week in Wisconsin Woods

Milwaukee (AP) An autistic man has been found alive in the woods a week after disappearing from a Wisconsin camp for the disabled.

Keith Kennedy has been hospitalized at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.

A volunteer assisting with the search says the 25-year-old was cold and dehydrated.

Searchers feared Kennedy might suffer a medical emergency without the anti-rejection drugs he has taken since a kidney transplant in 1995.

Kennedy was conscious and alert when a firefighter found him lying next to a creek about a mile from the camp, his body covered with bug bites.

It appeared he had been there for two to three days.

Camp staffers speculate Kennedy walked away from the camp out of fear of getting in trouble after sneaking into the cafeteria to get some popcorn.
