A 23–year–old man is dead after losing control of his vehicle shortly after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, on the Colorado National Monument.
The man, who has not been identified, was test driving a brand new s–u–v, when the vehicle hit a patch of ice and careened 80 feet into the canyon, landing on its roof and killing the man instantly.
Park rangers on the scene say the curve where the man lost control was shaded by the sun, saying the darkness and the location of the vehicle made extracting the body difficult.
