Grand Junction firefighters stand guard as a fire completely destroys a building at a local motel this morning.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 640 Highway 50 just after 7 to find the building was completely involved, and efforts to slow the fire's spread were abandoned due to issues about firefighter safety.
The two-story building was used for storage at the Artesa Motel,
which except for one building was condemned and abandoned.
No-one was injured in the fire. investigators have yet to determine a cause.
