Rescue crews on site of a backcountry avalanche in Colorado's high country recovered the body of an 18–year–old boy Thursday afternoon. Bill Barwick, with the Alpine Rescue Team, said the slide happened around 12:30 p.m., two miles up from the Grays & Torreys trailhead. That's south of I–70 near Bakerville.
The victim's companion was partially buried, then dug himself out and went for help. The pair had been snowshoeing along a ridge.
