Denver (AP) Police say a man impersonating an officer ran away after he realized the car he had pulled over was driven by a Denver sheriff's deputy.
Darrick Ray Huhman now faces criminal charges after police say the deputy identified him as the culprit. Police say the 23-year-old suspect was driving a white Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows and was equipped with red and blue lights and a siren.
Police say the deputy was driving his personal car but he was still in uniform.
Huhman was arrested by an officer shortly after the incident Monday night. Police say he had a handgun and a police uniform when he was arrested.
Huhman was released on $2,000 bail. There was no listed phone number for him.
