GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) __ After what was a wet start to this week we will be back into a dry and very hot pattern of weather for the next several days. Due to the dominating high pressure retreating westward winds will be coming out of the northwest this afternoon ushering in drier air. Still under the influence of high pressure, skies will stay mostly clear. Highs will spike another couple degrees because of this bringing most thermometers close to triple digits this afternoon. Wednesday still looks like it will remain the hottest day of the week with highs projected to be at 100° in lower valley locations.
We will tap into some monsoon moisture ahead of the weekend with rain chances expected on Thursday and extending through the weekend. Highs this weekend will be slightly cooler due to increase cloud coverage.
