Lincoln, Pruitt In court Today

Sam Lincoln and Charles Pruitt were the subjects of review hearings today before judge Tom Diester. The two are accused of shooting James Finnegan in the desert north of Grand Junction. The men managed to evade law enforcement for weeks before Pruitt turned himself in and Lincoln was finally apprehended in Glenwood Springs.

Lincoln was heavily guarded as he was brought to the court room in shackles.
Judge Diester had to explain to Lincoln the purpose of a preliminary hearing
before Lincoln agreed to waive that hearing.

A preliminary hearing is used by the state to offer evidence a crime has been committed by an individual.

Charles Pruitt at first objected to waiving his right to a speedy trial,
but after conferring with his attorneys agreed to do so.

Lincoln and Pruitt have numerous court appearances scheduled in the next two months.
11 News will keep you up to date on those appearances.
