The 2006 Municipal Election for the town of Fruita is still a few months away, but for people wanting to submit nominations for potential candidates the clock is ticking.
On April 4 Fruita residents will have to choose a mayor, plus fill three city council seats. The election will be done through a mail in ballot, but before names can go on the ballot people most nominate candidates. The nomination deadline is January 23.
Nomination petition forms and information packets may be picked up at the city clerk’s office. The official ballots will be mailed out March 3.
