Retail Chain Store In Grand Junction Is Closing

Corporate officials with Toys "R" Us have decided to close the doors at the store located in Grand Junction near Mesa Mall. The announcement came today and will impact a total of 30 jobs locally. The decision to shut down the store was part of a nation–wide comprehensive review which calls for closing a total of 73 stores. Officials predict the store to close in early spring and are planning to have a liquidation sale starting tomorrow. Kathleen Waugh with Toys "R" s says that employees may be offered other positions within the company or severance packages.
The store in Grand Junction has been open since 1992.
