No Formal Charges In Racial Intimidation Case

Video will be available shortly.

No criminal charges will be filed by the Mesa County District Attorney's office in a case involving a 13-year-old girl who says she suffered ethnic intimidation at her school.
District Attorney Pete Haughtzinger met with Annie Weimann's parents Wednesday and it was decided that no crime had been committed. The racial slurs and threats Annie says she received cannot be considered crimes because they didn't place her in eminent danger.
She wasn't injured and there was no damage done to any of her property.
The 13-year-old says she was forced to switch schools when her safety could no longer be guaranteed at the school.
Annie is now going to Redlands Middle School where she says she hasn't had any problems.
Mesa County School District will handle the problem administratively, but district officials have not disclosed what actions will be taken.
