Gubernatorial Hopeful Tours Western Colorado

Republican Congressman Bob Beauprez brings his campaign for Governor to the western slope. The Congressman born and raised on a dairy farm near Lafayette, Colorado prides himself on being a principal conservative. With his daughter and son–in–law by his side and supporters like Mesa County Commissioners Janet Rowland and Tillie Bishop, Beauprez touted his experience as a U.S. Congressman, two–term chairman of Colorado's Republican Party and business leader for giving him the edge over his opponent on the GOP ticket Marc Holtzman. Beauprez says his top priority if he were to become Governor is to solve the state's immigration problems. As well as to come up with a statewide plan to preserve Colorado's water. And when it comes to the state's natural resources such a natural gas and oil shale he says more power needs to be given to local governments. Beauprez also says he's in favor of giving Colorado parents a choice on where to send their children to school.
His opponent Marc Holtzman the other republican to announce a run for Governor will speak at noon Friday during the Mesa County Republicans luncheon at the Masonic Lodge in Grand Junction.
