NBC has cancelled the controversial show "The Book of Daniel."
The program portrayed the joys and troubles of a pill?addicted priest coping with life's uncertainties and the travails of his dysfunctional family.
The show has been the focus of a campaign by religious groups to remove the program from NBC's lineup. NBC says the program's consistently low ratings-not protests- lead to its' cancellation after three of eight planned airings.
