Grand Junction Man Killed in Car Crash

An accident at the height of a snowstorm that came through the Grand Valley kills one Grand Junction man, but accident investigators with the Grand Junction Police Department cannot say if weather was involved.

A car driven by 22–year–old Jeremiah Johnson was eastbound on River Road when it veered into the path of a truck towing two full trailer loads of dirt. The driver of the semi–truck was unable to stop, and the carslammed broadside into the semi. Officer Criag Campbell with the Grand Junction Police Department says Johnson's car went off the road, and when he steered back onto the road he lost control.

The passenger in the car was 23–year–old Joshua Wolfe. He died later at St. Mary's Hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.

After being released from the hospital Johnson was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of careless driving resulting in injury or death.
