Two Mesa County Commissioners along with the District Attorney will serve as the campaign co–chairs for Senate hopeful Josh Penry.
Penry who's currently serving in the State House of Representatives announced his candidacy for the senate back in August.
Today he tells members of the press and his supporters who he's selected to run his campaign. County Commissioners' Janet Rowland, Craig Meis and District Attorney Pete Hautzinger will serve as his co–chairs. Penry says he's excited to have three well known republicans with a strong influence in the community to back him. Penry is hoping to replace Senator Ron Teck who's term limited. Another republican has also thrown his hat into the ring for Senate District 7
former State Representative Matt Smith. Penry says he has already out raised his opponent Smith by a 2-1 margin raising more than $20,000.00 in the last three months.
