Man Sentenced to 428 Years in Prison

The man charged with tying up a Grand Junction couple and robbing them at gunpoint was sentenced this morning to 428 years in prison.

Gary clow was charged with thirteen different crimes,
including aggravated robbery, and kidnapping.
Clow changed his plea mid–trial Thursday from not-guilty to guilty,
which left the court to decide his sentence this morning.

Mesa County D.A. Pete Hautzinger says that the nature of this crime, was the most severe he has seen without rape or murder being involved. Hautzinger thought this was a very appropriate sentence.

Clow has been charged with felonies prior to this incident,
which made him a habitual offender in the eyes of the court.
The sentence of a habitual offender is four times that of someone who has committed a crime for the first time.
