Colorado Senator Ron Teck wants smokers to take responsibility for lighting up and putting their health in jeopardy. The Grand Junction Republican is proposing his "Personal Responsibility" bill which would take away publicly funded medical treatment for people whose problems can be traced back to tobacco use. For example if a person's lung, neck or head cancer is linked to years of smoking they will be on their own as far as paying for treatment.
The bill wouldn't affect smokers who pay for private health insurance...
Teck's "Personal Responsibility" bill is expected to go before lawmakers this week.
