Contract Signed To Analyze Emergency Training

Monday morning Mesa County Commissioners gave the ok on a contract that will use grant money to analyze on the job emergency training in Mesa County.

Currently if someone living on the Western Slope wants to become a paramedic, they have to go to Denver to get the training.
This contract will give up to $60,000 dollars to on the job services for them to determine the need for this training on the Western slope.
The money will also be used to figure out a strategy on how to start training if it is in fact needed.

Mesa State College has heard of this shortage and is in the process of creating a curriculum that might include emergency training.
