This will beTillie Bishop's last year as a Mesa County Commissioner.
He announced today that he will not be running for another term as commissioner.
Bishop has served Mesa County in public office for 32 years,
and has been a large figure in Mesa County over the past few decades.
A wildlife preserve was just recently named for him,
and while Bishop says he feels good about his accomplishments,
it's time to put his energy elsewhere.
He also says that he will stay active in the community and that Mesa County has been very good to Bishop and his wife, and they will continue to be involved. Bishop will continue to work hard for his final year as commissionerm
and his last day will be in January of next year when a new commissioner will be sworn in.
