Suspect Arrested In Orchard Mesa Shooting

A 16-year-old has been arrested in onnection with the shooting of an Orchard Mesa man last night.

30–year–old Joshua Simpson is listed in stable condition at St. Mary's hospital in Grand Junction.

Mesa County Sheriff's deputies responded at one this morning to a call of a shooting at 2880 Caboose Avenue. Upon arrival they found Simpson had been shot once in the upper leg.

At mid-morning Sheriff's investigators were still at the grey stucco house collecting evidence.

This afternoon officers responded to a tip that one of the suspects was involved in an argument with his mother at 186 Reta Drive,
where they arrested a 16 year old suspect without incident.

Two other people thought to be involved are still at large and investigation continues to identify those two suspects.
