Grand Junction's Community Development Director is leaving his position.
Bob Blanchard made the announcement today during a meeting with city staff. Blanchard has helped set the course for growth in Grand Junction for the past 5 years. He says the demands and frustrations of the job have taken a toll on him both physically and mentally and that the workloads have created a situation where it's difficult to accomplish much more than development review. Assistant Manager Sheryl Trent will take over the position. She'll work with Assistant Community Director Kathy Portner and Public Works Manager Tim Moore. Blanchard's last day with the city is March 3rd.
